Step-by-step USB Redirector usage. Quick start. USB Redirector has to be installed on both computers: 1. USB Redirector has to be installed on (USB Server side) - computer where you're going to share physically connected USB device. 2. USB Redirector or USB Redirector Lite has to be installed on (USB client side) - computer where you're going to use remote USB device. Step 1. Share USB device on USB Server side Start USB Redirector. You will see the window with the list of USB devices available for sharing. If you can not find one of your USB devices in this list, please check whether it is plugged into USB port or not. To share USB device you need to choose this device from the list of USB devices on your computer and click button on Toolbar or choose Sharing->Share USB Device.
And USB Redirector will share USB device automatically. It can take a few seconds and depends on the device model, its occupation by the system and so on. Please note! When USB device is shared, it becomes unavailable on the local system (USB Server side) ! Step 2. Add USB Server to USB client side Start USB Redirector or USB Redirector Lite. To connect shared USB devices from the USB Server side you need to add remote computer to your configuration. Click the button on Toolbar or choose Connect->Add USB Servers. And you'll see the window where you can add USB Server.
If connection was successful you can see the list of USB devices that are shared on the remote computer at the moment. If there is no the list of USB devices that means that NO USB device is shared on the remote computer. Step 3. Connect USB device to USB client side In the main program's window open the tab Remote USB devices available for Connect Choose USB device you need to connect from the list of shared devices in the second tab Remote USB Device available for Connect and click the button on Toolbar or choose menu Connect->Connect USB Device.
